Why the Prince of Wales is Unfit to be King

The Prince of Wales is the next in line to become the King of Wales. When people think of the King, they have a preconceived notion of what the king should be like. Many of these preconceived notions are that the king must be truthful, just, and most importantly, have self control and not let the power go to their head. Many people should be anticipating the inevitable new changes and new laws that will be placed in line with the soon-to-be King. However, will these laws be beneficial for the people, or will they be only for the benefit of the royal family? Will the new laws distributed help the beggars on the streets, or will they only suit the needs of the rich? These questions are supposed to help answer the question, “Is the Prince of Wales fit to be the King of Wales?” Under my understanding,  I say that the Prince of Wales is unfit to be the next King of Wales..

Le 2

It is shown that the Prince of Wales is not fit to be king due to several characteristics. The first one should be that he is shown to be very gluttonous. Usually, a characteristic that one would hope to find in a king is that they are not gluttonous and they exercise some restraint. However, the Prince of Wales is not shown to be so. One such thing shown is that there is a plate of food with several bones next to him. Generally, a plate with several bones on it tends to indicate that a lot of meat has been eaten. People who eat an excess of meat tend to be gluttonous. Therefore, it is not a stretch to call the Prince gluttonous, therefore not being characteristic of a king. Another characteristic that the Prince does not display is restraint with money. Anyone who has gambling debts is probably not a good manager of money because spending on gambling results in debt. It is common knowledge that you lose money in gambling. Therefore, the prince is mosts likely not a very good manager of money.

Finally, another characteristic that the Prince does not fit is the ability to exercise self control. The Prince does not fit this characteristic because he is shown to be hedonistic. He has a corkscrew where his fob should be and empty wine bottles. All of these show signs of the Prince being unable to exercise self-control, as it would show that he does not know when to stop drinking or when to take things in moderation.  It would seem that the prince cannot fulfill most characteristics that most people expect of a king.

The Prince of Wales would most likely not be a generous king. He is shown to be gluttonous, he does not manage money effectively, and he is shown to be hedonistic. These are all not characteristics one would hope to find in a king. A king would exercise self control, manage money effectively and take things in moderation. Therefore, under my understanding, I say that the Prince of Wales is unfit to be the next King of Wales.

Dear Ms. Gibson

A Short History of The Girl Next Door

Jared Rock

Page 9- 18

Summary: Matt wants to take Tabby to the school dance coming up. He waits until English class to tell her, but the he asks her, then he’s already too late. Liam asked Tabby earlier that morning in the way to school. Tabby feels really bad when she declines Matt so she says they can hangout after the dance. After English class Matt and Tabby are walking together and Liam asks Tabby if after the dance she will go to his party, and Tabby says yes and insists for Matt to come along too.

Response: I really liked this chapter because it was more interesting when the dance, and after party were sorta brought into this. I also really hate Tabby and like I wish she would just try and make time for Matt instead of ignoring him. and in my opinion I think that Tabby should’ve just gone to hangout with Matt instead of dragging him to some stupid party.

Dear Ms. Gibson,

A Short History of the Girl Next Door

Jared Reck

Page 1-8

Summary: The books starts off and the main character a boy named Matt talks about how he was excited to see his next door neighbor/best friend/ crush Tabby, that morning for the first day of school on the bus. Instead she rides with the popular guy of the school, Liam Branson. He then goes to school and tries to find her, but he cant find her anywhere and then finally english class comes along and he finally gets to see her. She tells him she rhode to school with him, and they catch up. But after school she goes with Liam again. leaving Matt all alone and sad.

Response: I have found this book super interesting. I love how the author writes Matts perspective on things and I know it seems like every cliche high school story there is, but its still very fun and interesting to read for me. One thing i didn’t like in the first chapter of the book is how Tabby just sorta ignores him and stops hanging out with him just because of some guy. Like even if she didn’t like the Liam guy, she could at least still hangout with Matt.

Dear Ms. Gibson,

The Mysterious Affair At Styles

Agatha Christie

Chapter 4

Summary:

In this chapter, Poirot and the main character start their investigation around the house of Styles. They discover many clues and many interesting factors. They find a piece of the will Mrs. Inglethorp wrote before she was killed. They thought she was poisoned from strychnine at first, but by the end of the chapter, Poirot believed otherwise.

Response:

A lot of investigation and discovery happened in this chapter. To be honest, I really don’t know who it is but now I’m sure it wasn’t her husband. It’s someone else, but I have no clue who. Something in this chapter that made me extremely mad is Hastings the main character. Honestly, I think Poirot is the main character, and Hasting’s just the narrator. But he is so annoying and full of himself. So Poirot kept finding clues and things that he thought were important and every time Hastings was always like “how could that be useful” and just dismissing Poirot’s discoveries. Did he not notice that every Poirot clue leads to an important discovery while all the ones he thought were important lead to nothing? And at one point he’s like “I think his age is getting to him” and he should “leave the investigation to people with fresher minds”. Sir? Are you a detective? He’s not even a real detective!!!! Investigating is just his little hobby and he’s not an actual detective. Hercule Poirot not only is a real detective, but he’s a very famous one. Like sit down and watch the professionals do it before you comment, please. The fact that he thinks he’s right and Poirot’s wrong and his opinion is more valuable just because he’s younger than Poirot is ridiculous. He doesn’t even know what he’s doing. He rolls his eyes and tries to invalidate the clues Poirot focuses on because he can’t see anything deeper than the surface and that’s just proof that he isn’t even good at investigation. Thanks to Poirot they discovered Mrs. Inglethorp wrote a will, they discovered who her will witnesses and so much more. And the whole time they were discovering he kept acting like Poirot was being ridiculous for chasing after those clues. Can he name one thing valuable that he found out? And not the whole coffee thing because that ended up not even meaning anything. Hastings thinks it was Mr. Inglethorp who put strychnine in Mrs. Ingelthorp’s coffee but Poirot doesn’t and I think we all know who we should actually trust. In conclusion, Hasting is a little stuck up wannabe detective and I can’t wait to see the look on his face when he finds Poirot was right the whole time. That will probably hurt his gigantic ego.

I Hope You Enjoyed My Ranting!

Dear Sunshine,

You make a day happy. Sunshine can make a bad day one of the best days. If the sun is shining I’m smiling. It makes the world go around. Without Sunshine then we would have long gloomy days. I love seeing the sun Shining when I wake up, it makes getting up early not as bad. Without sunshine everything would be so sad because your atmosphere affects your emotions a lot. With a good atmosphere of sunshine and rainbows it’s hard to not have a smile on your face. Whenever you picture a happy fun day, its always sunny and bright. Thank you Sunshine for keeping me and everyone else happy.

Sincerely,

Cammie

Its’s Not You, It’s Me

Karen Cohen Hoffman

Pages 70 to 85

Zoë still has the thought of getting back with Henry. She sees the freshman girls again, and she calls out to Madison. Madison has a friendly smile, and Zoë asks Is Henry has mentioned her. Zoë says that Henry broke her heart, and Madison asks why Zoe wanted to talk to her. Zoë said she saw her hanging out with Henry, and that’s they should hang too. Zoë made plans to hangout at a place she thinks Henry will be. They keep talking then eventually Shannon walks up and Zoë introduces Madison to her. Shannon knew that Zoë was trying to get informations about Henry from her. Zoë stops Niles in the hallway and tries to talk and question him. Zoë asks what’s going on between Henry and Madison, but Niles says he knows nothing. Zoë the stops David Jefferson, and asks him what he knows about Henry and Madison. David calls her crazy. She has to spend her Friday with the thought that Henry could be celebration with a new girl. Zoë’s parents rented a documentary on fast food, and they want to get Zoë’s mind off the breakup. Shannon invites Zoë and Julia over, but Zoë’s parents suggest she might have to babysit Logan when they go out for dinner. She wanted to because with her friends she would have had too many memories of Henry. Logan said he wasn’t going to listen to Zoë, and when Zoe tells him that he isn’t allowed to watch R-rated movies, he flips her off. Zoë went up to her room and she opened her journal from when her and Henry were dating. Then the possibility that Henry was interested in Madison while they are dating, and that makes Zoë very sad. She read March 1 and March 5, but then she skipped to March 11 because the other ones were more boring. She reads it then she reflects on how she was so stupid, and she logs into her e-mail. She goes to deleted files from March 11. She finds a couple emails from Julia. She then realizes that the whole time she thought Henry was happily focusing on music, he was actually focusing on Madison. She wanted to know what her was doing on March 11, and then she goes to his house. Henry’s room was dark and she has no plan but sees the Maple tree is still there. She walks up to the front door and Mrs. Bole answers. Zoë says that she took her advice.

I thought this was a good 3 and a half days of the b0ok. I like how they had a long conversation with Madison. I think this helped us as a reader a little more about Madison. I think Zoë brought up Henry a little too fast. I also think that its weird that Zoë would make plans with her when she really doesn’t like her. I know she does this though so that she could get information about Henry. I also think they could have put asking Niles and David about Madison and Henry in the same day. They days that she talked to those two boys were very short. They were too short so they were as interesting. I also think she would want to hangout with friends it would’ve been more fun, and I think it would keep her mind of of Henry better. It was very realistic that she was over thinking about Madison and Henry because that’s something I can relate to. Like wondering if they were talking while they were dating. I liked how Zoë was a lot more brave about going to Henry’s house she didn’t try to climb the tree again and actually went to the door.

Mr. Gibson,

The Outsiders

Chapter 4

Summary: Chapter 4

Ponyboy and Johnny decide to walk around the park fountain. Currently it is 2:30am. Then out of nowhere the socs from earlier that night pull up. There are five drunk Socs that get out of the mustang. The Socs then grab Ponyboy and proceed to dunk his head under the fountain and Ponyboy blacks out. When he wakes up he thought the Socs had left but only found out that Johnny had killed Bob. The boys decide it was best to run away, so along with them they brought clothes, money and a gun, and ran off to an old church.

There’s definitely a big twist in this chapter. I never expected for someone to have been killed. But that keeps me wondering what is gonna happen to Ponyboy and Johnny and what if someone finds out that they were the ones who killed Bob.

Chapter 3

Summary:

Ponyboy, Two-Bit, and Johnny walk to Two-Bit’s house with Cherry and Marcia so that they can give the girls a ride home. Ponyboy and Cherry talk about his brothers. He notices how easy it is to talk to Cherry. As they talk about the Socs and the greasers, Cherry’s boyfriend and Marcia’s Soc boyfriends roll up in a mustang, the girls then leave. When Ponyboy comes home Darry gets into an argument for staying out so late then slaps Ponyboy. Ponyboy gets mad then leaves the house. Around 2:00am Ponyboy and his friend Johnny decide if they want to run away.

This chapter has many mixed feelings and you get to know Ponyboys life better. His brothers and his friends are more known and he makes new friends along the way. Aside from the ending which makes me wonder if the boys would actually run away this chapter had some interesting point of views.

grateful free write

I am so incredibly grateful for everything in my life. I am mostly grateful for my health. So many people struggle with health issues, vision or hearing problems, and mental illnesses as well. I am so lucky and grateful that I don’t have those issues. My health is very good, I don’t get sick that often, and my overall heath is just great. I usually try to take good care of my health and body like eating good nutritious food, trying to get some sort of exercise. People struggle with heart problems, mental health problems, and are overweight so they have health problems too. Im so grateful that I don’t have any of those problems. I have a cousin that suffers from a disease and I cannot imagine what he goes through sometimes with multiple surgeries and physical therapy.

During this pandemic you have to be very careful. Wearing masks and trying to stay a safe distance from people could help save some ones life. I don’t really get sick that easily and kids don’t really die from getting the corona virus unless they may have an underline health condition, so I am also very lucky because of that. Making sure to wash your hands and applying hand sanitizer is also a good way to help prevent the virus.

I’m not allergic to anything, my parents and grandparents are very healthy too. I also have access to be able to go to hospitals. If I am sick or don’t feel good I can just go to the hospital or urgent care and I know some kids cant. They may not have the ability to get a ride there, or their parents just truly don’t care. That’s why I am so lucky and grateful for everything I have.

Dear Ms. Gibson

The Hunger Games

Suzanne Collins

Pg. 185-194

Summary:

Rue points out a nest above Katniss, and when Katniss looks closer she realizes it is a tracker jacker nest which are wasps with hallucinogenic venom. She decides to cut it down to drop it on the careers and when she goes to cut it down she realizes that the smoke from the fire sedated the tracker jackers temporarily. She starts sawing at the branch holding the nest during the anthem, but only gets to cut through ¾ of the branch. When she gets back down to her sleeping place she finds a small plastic pot with a silver parachute from Haymitch with medicine in it. She applies the medicine to her burns which heal quickly from it. The next morning she warns Rue to leave before cutting down the branch but not before getting stung three times. The careers run away but two die and Katniss steals the bow but is having trouble leaving because of the venom when Peeta and Cato get into the area and Peeta tells her to run so she does.

Response:

When she sees the tracker jacker nest and says what they do I winced slightly. When she decided to cut the branch and the tracker jackets were sedated by the smoke I just blinked and thought that it was slightly too convenient. When she stopped because there was no light I felt slightly bad for her. When she got the medicine from Haymitch I mentally thanked Haymitch for giving Katniss the medicine. I was glad when she warned Rue to leave before Katniss cuts down the tracker jacker nest. When Glimmer and the other career died I felt slightly bad for them. When Katniss describes when she sees Glimmer’s body with the venom’s hallucinations I winced slightly. I was slightly confused when Peeta tells Katniss to run as I am having trouble telling who he is helping, although I am pretty sure he is helping Katniss.
